UCSF Neurosurgery Ranks #1 in NIH Funding

For the 15th consecutive year, UCSF has been ranked the #1 neurosurgery program for NIH funding. UCSF Neurosurgery faculty members Edward Chang, MD, Mitchel Berger, MD, Philip Starr, MD, PhD, and Susan Chang, MD, were also among the top ten highest funded Principal Investigators for a neurosurgery program.

The Department's rich basic and clinical science research programs span multiple subspecialties and include over 30 laboratories. From personalized medicine for brain tumors to new neurostimulation paradigms for movement disorders, researchers at UCSF not only continue to push the field of neuroscience forward every day but also translate those findings to improved patient care.
