Three UCSF Neurosurgeons Named 2026 Top Doctors by Marin Magazine

UCSF neurosurgeons, Blake Taylor, MD, Nalin Gupta, MD, PhD, and Tarun Arora, MD, have been named 2026 Top Doctors by Marin Magazine in recognition of their excellence in neurosurgical care across Marin County and the Bay Area.

The annual Top Doctors list highlights physicians who are widely respected by their peers for clinical expertise and patient care in their specialty.

The surgeons see patients at the UCSF clinic in Greenbrae, bringing UCSF’s nationally recognized neurosurgical expertise directly to the Marin community. Taylor and Arora specialize in advanced surgical treatment of complex brain and spine disorders, such as cervical and lumbar disc herniations and pituitary adenomas. Gupta is the chief of pediatric neurosurgery at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital in San Francisco. Together, they provide patient-centered care that reflects the values of UCSF and its regional partners. 

Blake Taylor, MD

Specializes in surgical care of the brain and spine using minimally invasive and complex techniques. Expertise includes computer-assisted navigation for conditions such as disc herniations, spinal stenosis, cervical myelopathy, and degenerative spine disease.

Nalin Gupta, MD, PhD
Pediatric Neurosurgeon

Expert in the evaluation and surgical management of pediatric neurological conditions, including epilepsy, brain tumors, hydrocephalus, and congenital cranial and spinal disorders.

Tarun Arora, MD
