Donate to Stroke & Cerebrovascular Disorders Research and Care
Every year, 700,000 Americans are affected by a stroke. Yet the vast majority of stroke victims survive, and close to 5 million stroke survivors are managing their health today.
The Center for Stroke and Cerebrovascular Disease (CSCVD) at UCSF is the leading referral center for cerebrovascular disease in northern California. Once detected, many cerebrovascular disorders, such as aneurysms, arteriovenous malformation, vascular malformations, and ischemic disorders, can be successfully treated with surgery, eliminating the threat of hemorrhage and the risk of death.
Together, specialists from the CSCVD and the Center for Cerebrovascular Research provide patients with the best possible care following a stroke or traumatic brain injury. They are also pursuing research that, one day, will give us the means to develop successful preventive measures.
