Patient Safety and Quality Improvement Resources

The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality’s (AHRQ) mission is to improve the quality, safety, efficiency, and effectiveness of healthcare for Americans. Information from AHRQ’s research helps providers and patients make more informed decisions and improve the quality of health care services.

AHRQ Patient Safety Network (PSNet) is a national web-based resource featuring the latest news and essential resources on patient safety. The site offers weekly updates of patient safety literatures, news, tools, and a vast set of carefully annotated links to important research and other information on patient safety (“The Collection”). There is also the ability for users to customize the site around their interests (My PSNet).

AHRQ Web M&M is an online forum on patient safety and health care quality through the use of Morbidity and Mortality rounds on the web. The site features expert analysis of medical errors that are reported anonymously, interactive learning modules on patient safety (“Spotlight Cases”), and perspectives on safety. CME and CEU credits are available.
